Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2024
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how we protect your data and what information we do (and don't) collect.
🔒 Privacy at a Glance
- ✅ All tools run entirely in your browser
- ✅ We don't collect, store, or transmit your data
- ✅ No cookies, no tracking, no analytics
- ✅ No user accounts or registration required
- ✅ Your data never leaves your device
Information We Don't Collect
ToolCove is designed with privacy as the fundamental principle. We deliberately do not collect any of the following information:
- Personal Information: Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any identifying information
- Tool Usage Data: Text you format, URLs you encode, hashes you generate, or any input data
- Technical Information: IP addresses, browser fingerprints, device information, or usage patterns
- Behavioral Data: Which tools you use, how often you visit, or usage analytics
- Location Data: Geographic location or IP-based location tracking
How Our Tools Work
All ToolCove tools are designed to run entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript. This means:
- When you paste JSON to format, it's processed locally in your browser
- When you encode/decode Base64, the conversion happens on your device
- When you generate UUIDs or hashes, they're created using your browser's APIs
- No data is sent to our servers for processing
- Tools continue to work even if you disconnect from the internet
This architecture ensures that your sensitive data, API keys, configuration files, or any other information you process through our tools remains completely private.
Cookies and Tracking
ToolCove does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services, or any other tracking technologies. We don't use:
- Google Analytics or similar analytics services
- Social media tracking pixels
- Third-party advertising networks
- Marketing automation tools
- User behavior tracking
The only local storage we use is for legitimate functionality such as:
- Remembering your dark/light mode preference
- Temporarily caching the website for offline functionality
You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
Third-Party Services
ToolCove may display advertisements to support our free service. These ads are served by third-party advertising networks that may use cookies and tracking technologies according to their own privacy policies.
We choose advertising partners that respect user privacy and comply with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. You can:
- Use ad blockers to prevent advertising scripts from loading
- Manage your advertising preferences through the ad networks' opt-out tools
- Browse with privacy-focused browsers that block tracking by default
Important: Even with advertising, your tool usage data is never shared with advertisers or any third parties.
Data Security
Since we don't collect or store your data, there's no central database that could be breached or compromised. Your data's security is determined by:
- Your browser's security features
- Your device's security settings
- Your network connection security (we recommend using HTTPS)
We implement security best practices in our code to prevent client-side vulnerabilities such as XSS attacks.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect personal data, traditional data protection rights (access, rectification, erasure) don't apply in the usual sense. However:
- Right to Privacy: Your data processing happens entirely on your device
- Right to Transparency: This policy clearly explains our practices
- Right to Control: You have complete control over what data you input
- Right to Deletion: Clear your browser data to remove any local storage
International Users
ToolCove is accessible worldwide and complies with major privacy regulations:
- GDPR (European Union): No personal data processing means no GDPR compliance issues
- CCPA (California): No personal information collection or sale
- Other Jurisdictions: Our privacy-by-design approach exceeds most privacy law requirements
